The Hex transcodes movies primarily in XVID format an open source version of DIVX. Things will pop up in other formats from time to time - .MPG (from SVCD) and DIVX to name a few. To view Cosmic Hex movies you must :

A) Have the XVID and DIVX codecs installed on your computer. They're free and can be obtained here:

The DIVX installer also has a player that comes with it. Once the codecs are installed, though, most other players including Windows Media Player will work. If you plan on viewing movies on your computer, we recommend using the VLC media player - it truly is Cosmic, will play just about anything (including individual DVD .VOB files!) and... Oh yes, its free!!

B) Have a set top DVD player that is DIVX certified - these are becoming more common. If you are lucky enough to own one of these, you can just burn the files on CD or DVD media, plop them in and enjoy...as simple as that. Here are a few:

C) Have a portable digital player that can play DIVX etc through the television. A modded Xbox comes to mind with its Xbox Media Center - which is AWESOME and will play anything. We, of course, know nothing about modding an Xbox - such are the mysteries of the HEX! There are other players that support DIVX as well - like the Archos AV 400-700 lines:

With these, you can watch movies on the go or plug it into any TV - pretty stellar if you ask us.

D) Have a PSP - or Playstation Portable. Another profound little device - DOES NOT play straight DIVX files but requires its own unique file transcoding. We will have a special section that promises to contain the most boggling of specimens. You will need a sizeable Memory Stick DUO as well if you plan to indulge this avenue.
